Man Arrested for ‘Execution-Style’ Murder of Texas Cop

Texas police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering a sheriff’s deputy in cold blood. He suspect has not been named, though a spokesperson for the police say that his mother turned him in, CNN reported.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman, 47-year-old Deputy Darren Goforth had finished filling up his car last night (Friday) “when, unprovoked, a man walked up behind him and literally shot him to death.” The man continued to shoot Goforth several times after he fell down. There was no clear motive for the attack.

Hickman added, “I have been in law enforcement [for] 45 years. I don’t recall another incident this cold-blooded and cowardly.”

Goforth was the twenty-third law enforcement officer to have been shot to death in the US this year.
