An Arab youth from Jerusalem’s Old City was arrested early Tuesday morning, on suspicion of assisting the terrorist who carried out a stabbing attack near the Lion’s Gate overnight.
The suspect has been taken for questioning and will then be brought before a court for his preliminary sentencing. He will be held for at least 96 hours.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Monday night, a 60-year-old Jewish man was stabbed near the Lion’s Gate. The terror escaped but was caught in an alleyway several hours later. He is described as an 18-year-old from Judea and Samaria, and he quickly admitted to the stabbing.
MDA treated the victim and brought him to Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital. Doctors say that he was moderately wounded.
